Hi Guys,

I was about to buy a new comp. AMD 3200+ (* 2) with Asus A8N SLI. Yesterday I
read an article that AMD has a price slash in their X2 series.
http://www.overclockers.com/tips00857/ So right now, I am in confusion
whether to go ahead with two AMD 3200+ or to buy AMD 4200+ (Dual Core). For
me buying two AMD 3200+ or buying one AMD 4200+ (Dual Core) costs almost the
same price. I used to do lot of video editings and graphics stuff. I would
like to know which one will have better performance.( Two AMD 3200+ or AMD
4200+).Also let me know which motherboard and RAM’s(1 GB) suits best for AMD
4200+ . I would appreciate suggestions from computer experts and from those
who already bought AMD 4200+ or the other ones. Thanks.

George.

You are much better off buying a single dual core system then trying to
cluster two separate boxes. Clustering is fine if what you want to do is
run some supercomputing applications on dozens or hundreds of processors.
But if all you want are two processors then a dual core chip is a much
better solution. BTW I think the 4400+ is the best choice for a dual core
system, the 4400+ has 1M caches and for many applications the bigger
caches make a huge difference.
