Hi, guys

I met a serious problem today. When i press start botton to boot the win2k,
i didnt get it rebooted. The only thing i can see is power light is on. Open
the box, i could see the cpu fan is running. No any video signal output....
Coz i need it urgently, i took another machine's hard disk (with same cpu,
motherboard and video card,,, network card) and swapped this disk in. It
couldnt get win2k up either, error msg: A hard disk read error, press
Ctrl+Alt+Del restart... Two hard disk is from differnt manufacturer. I used
Win2k CD to repair it, but i couldnt fix it unless i can provide emergency
repair disk... what can i do to swap a different system disk to another
machine? highly appreciated!

Hello;
Assuming that you have an ATX, I have noticed many of them
will fail to boot when you power up even if clearly there
is power available, no video signal is present, but fans
and drives are powered up.
This sounding like it might be your problem, Proceed as
follows; Power up with the original drive, if no signal
press RESET 2 or 3 times instead of power. wait and see
if you have a signal, if not repeat after say one minute.
If not use the recovery console (safe mode) to attempt to
fix the boot record, tipe help at the command line to see
the syntax.
Hope it helps.
