Multiple Domains support with single RIS instance?

Hello all,
Can a single RIS instance support builds in two different domains.
Actually two separate forests?

We are migrating from one domain to another, I'd rather try and
duplicate the RIS infrastructure during the life of the migration. The
current RIS infrastructure is in a Windows 2000 forest.

Any and all insights are greatly apprieciated.
