Windows XP "msiexec.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close."

Hi.

I have encountered this problem when trying to install Microsot Office 2000 Premium into my Windows XP Home OS, the error message is "msiexec.exe has encountered a problem and needs to close".

Anyone have any idea how to resolve it???

msiexec.exe is a Windows Installer Component and is used to install new programs that use Windows Installer package files (MSI).

Have a look at this previous thread HERE which relates to a similar problem trying to install Microsoft Antispy.
