MSI Package

Bear

Has anyone been able to successfully construct an MSI
package for this product. I realize that it is a beta
(of course everything MS releases is beta, hell Win 98 is
still in testing ;-), but I would like to deploy it to
problem areas on my network using a GP.

Has anybody had any luck with this?

You can unpack the main download via the -a switch, as I recall. I'm not
sure I've heard of any great successes from there, and there are a number of
issues in enterprise deployment you should think about--mainly in the area
of revelation and blocking of management tools and scripts.

block administrative actions that originate from a central management tool

by Systems Management Server 2003

Start the install of the app but stop at the first page.
Look in the Temp folder of your profile's Local Settings
and you'll see the MSI. Or just do a search for the MSI
after starting the install.
