MS Outlook 2003 vs. AOL, good luck on this one

Ok so I have MS Outlook 2003, and the rules rock, but I am running into a
small problem. I have my AOL e-mail setup to run through outlook, that part
works fine. But the problem I am having is that my emails go to A-my main
inbox, and B-the folders I want it re-directed to, so I am getting two
copies, and this is getting a little messy. I have a rule that takes
everything through my imap.aol.com account and sends it to my inbox, I know I
know that is probably my problem, but listen....

If I remove this rule, everything that is not caught by another rule, stays
in the inbox folder for AOL. For example....

Say the only rule I have is for my Discover Card. So I have a rule setup to
catch things with "Discover" in the subject line (rule is a little more
advanced than that, but just for argument's sake) and all e-mails that have
that, go where they have to, but any email that doesn't, goes to the AOL
inbox, which is not what I want.

That is what happens if I remove the rule about mail coming through my
imap.aol.com mailbox to go to the outlook inbox. I even tried moving rules
up and down the list but it isn't working.

Basically, what I want, is for emails that are not caught by my rules, to go
into the Outlook inbox, which is satisfied by the all emails through the
imap.aol.com to the specific folder, inbox.

However, I don't want emails that meet a rule to end up in both places.

I am sorry if this is confusing, but please help!!!

To all those out there, I figured this one out on my own, it might not be the
most efficient way, but it works until I can determine a more efficient
solution, here is what I came up with.

OK so I have the rule all emails through the imap.aol.com account go to
inbox. And then the rule for Discover to go to the Discover folder, and I
was getting copies. So here is what I did.

I took the rule, for all emails through imap.aol.com and modified it by
giving it an exception, and the exception is "except if it has the rules in
the subject line" or however that rule goes, and I put my rule for discover
in there, and it worked, now I just have to add the rest of my rules, and
I'll be set.

So it works, but if anyone has a better idea, feel free to share. Just
wanted to update this.....thanks
