MS Defender not compatible with processor

Hi
I tried to install MS Defender after running spyware successfully but after
downloading ok, installation failed giving the error message this version of
defender is not compatible with this processor. Has anyone experienced this
and got any advice or is it non resolvable?

There are two downloads:

windowsdefender.msi

and

windowsdefenderx64.msi

The vast majority of users need the first of these downloads, even if you
are running on a 64-bit processor. The exception would be those users
running the 64-bit version of XP or Vista, neither of which is widely used
as yet, even on 64 bit hardware.
