Moved to new disk - Outlook 2000 cant send\receive email

Moved everything to a new hard disk with utility that came with disk.
Outlook opens, but cannot send\receive email. When sending email, instantly
get "Undeliverable" email from "System Administrator". Body of email says
"No transport provided..."

Talked with MS paid support. Naturally they went thru my entire setup, etc.
etc, then wanted me to reinstall, which is total crapola... This issue
obviously has something to do with MS anti-pirating copy-protection.
Spending an hour going thru my setup was a waste of time. I prefer not to
waste more time reinstalling. Hopefully I can get an answer here...thanks.

Utilities that purport to be able to move everything to a new boot disk
often fall short. I've run into it myself. One entire Windows folder (the
%WinDir%\Installer folder) was not copied and that really screwed things
over when I wanted to fix some installations.

Outlook 2000 doesn't use the current Microsoft activation scheme, so that's
not the problem. Were I you, I'd start with a new mail profile. Is OL 2000
installed in Internet Mail Only mode or Corporate/Workgroup mode?

Hello Brian, thanks for the response.

I have tried deleting and setting up a new profile with no luck. OL2000 is
installed as C\W.

And you're doing that from Control Panel's Mail applet, correct?

Brian, another thing that happened after copying everything to the new disk
was that MS Office apps acted strange when they were opened for the first
time. Excell and Word both briefly popped up a dialog looking for install
info, but they automatically did their thing and disappered. Outlook did
something even stranger - when I clicked on the Desktop icon for Outlook
(which is not a "shortcut") it couldnt find Outlook and popped up a dialog
asking me to locate it.

I'd try a repair install from the Office setup in Add/Remove Programs.
