mouse moves on its' own

if i'm reading a post or anything else, the cursor will move about 2-3
inches across the page. and its moving without my touching the mouse....has
anyone heard of this..any fix? thank you

hey sqr, i think she might find it a little more helpful
if you included the word virus after trojan. Because for
all (s)he knows, you could just be spamming, as in Trojan
condoms :p. Unlikely, but my point is its usually more
helpful if you give full answers. Such as 'probably a
trojan virus' Because (s)he may not have a clue
what 'trojan' means.

thanks for the responses, but i use norton antivirus 2003 and it is updaues
automatically and i scan every few days. it says all is fine. i use norton
pwesonal firewall. i did a clean install five days ago. it installed with no
problems..any other suggestions? thanks alot!

Clear out the muck from the contacts the mouse ball uses. A build up
the muck can cause small movements when inturn means random pointer
movements. A small pen knife or a finger nail would do.

I have this same problem and i use norton have spyware scans running a
all times and have a clean mouse. Anyone have any suggestions?? It i
really irritating to have my mouse moving all ove

optical mice often do this if there is a speck of dust, or a small hair,
in the light pick-up area. Give it a good look and clear it out.

rollers. Another reason this might happen is that the cord has gotten
old and stretched. Consider trying a different mouse, they are
inexpensive.

I have cleaned the mouse multiple times. I will see if i can talk the
bosses into a new mouse. THank you
