missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system after fresh intall

i have been getting the errror message = windows could not start because the following file is missing or corrupt \windows\system32\config\system and this is all after a new fresh install right after the first restart of the setup process, i read other problems about this and they talked about fixing the registry, but i wouldn't see why i would have to fix the registry after the first install, thanks

i have tryed this before but, i am not able to do this registry recover since the files that i need to copy to restore do not exit yet, this error message has come up right after the first restart of the installation, so the repair folder registry files do not even exist yet

Are performing a 'Repair' or 'Clean' install of XP? I can't see how the
Registry can become corrupt that quickly.

Greetings --

If the registry is becoming irretrievably corrupted during the
initial installation, the odds of your having defective hardware is
very high. I'd place RAM at the head of the suspect list. Try using
the advice at:
