MIke

i have a home network with 2 computers running winXP.
for some reason i cannot see the "Microsoft Windows
Network" from the "entire network".
i cannot view any workgroups either.

can anyone tell me if there is something wrong?

i can ping the other computer through my linksys router
but i cannot connect to shared folders.

Is "Client for Microsoft Networks" installed in the network properties? If
not it will need to be.

Greetings Mike,

You can check to see if Client for Microsoft Networks is installed.
Right-click My Network Places and click Properties to open the Network
Connections (or click Start, point to My Network Places and click 'View
Network Connections'). Right-click the network connection, and then click
Properties. You should get a list of network components including the
default protocols that are associcated with the connection you are using.

yes i have confirmed that Client for Microsoft networks
is installed.
further, the only way i can see the "entire Network" is
by trying to map a network drive. under entire network i
can only see:
Microsoft Terminal services
Web Client Network
