microsoft visual basic-compile error in hidden module:modMain

When I open Excel 2000 Iget a fault message:

MICROSOFT VISUAL BASIC
Compile error in hidden module:modMain

Anybody know what I can do to eradicate this problem?

From memory it's an adobe add-in try uninstalling adobe acrobat and then
re-install taking the advanced option and disable office integration. If my
mind is faulting, it is certainly an add-in. go to Tools>Add-ins...,
un-check all and then add one back at a time and re-start Excel between
iterations until the issue comes back and that's your problem
