I get this error repeatedly in the Outlook folder Mailbox\Sync Issues

13:53:59 Synchronizer Version 11.0.8000
13:53:59 Synchronizing Mailbox '[mail mailboxname]'
13:53:59 Done
13:54:00 Microsoft Exchange offline address book
13:54:00 0X80070002

I've looked far and wide but cannot figure out how, why, or what to do.
Thoughts anyone?

Have you talked to the Exchange Admin? Tried posting in an Exchange group
since it is not Outlook's problem?

After furious head scratching, DTC asked:

Using the 'send and receive' command in Microsoft Outlook 2003 (11.8010.8036) SP2 you get the following error:

Task 'Microsoft Exchange Server' reported error (0x80070002) : 'Can't find this file. Make sure the path and file name are correct.'

Checking the Sync Issues, the following issue is stated:

16:18:12 Synchronizer Version 11.0.8000

16:18:12 Synchronizing Mailbox 'user'

16:18:12 Synchronizing Hierarchy

16:18:12 Done

16:18:13 Microsoft Exchange offline address book

16:18:13 0X80070002

This error only occurs when the following option is checked:

->Tools->Options->Mail Setup->Send/Receive->All Accounts->Edit->Download offline address book

Unchecking this option resolves the issue but then the '\Global Address List' does not update the offline address book. We resolved this issue using the following resolution:

Having checked other identical systems that were running correctly we found that the affected machine was missing the following file:

pdndex.oab

from the following directory;

C:\Documents and Settings\user\Local Settings\Application Data\Microsoft\Outlook

Inserting this file with one copied from a working machine resolved the problem.

Once we had done a successful 'Send/Receive', the system didn't mind having or not having this file. Trying to recreate this issue did not work. Perhaps someone can enlighten this thread to the inner workings of the .oab files.
