Try this fix:

1) Open up a command prompt (start -> run -> cmd)
2) Type in the following "regsvr32 msvbvm60.dll" (without the quotes).
3) Close and re-open Windows AntiSpyware

thank you very much it has fixed the problem! Is this a common flaw in the
programme?

This is an interaction with other software on your machine--most commonly
seen with Symantec products--i.e. you install or upgrade a Symantec product,
and this is an unseen side effect.

This won't happen with the beta2 product when that is available sometime
next year.

Bill,
It worked wondres. My anti-spyware is now working perfectly!!
Thanks a million!! What was the problem anyway???

This is due to a kind of "dll hell" issue with other software on your
system. It'll be fixed when beta2 is released, which will be soon, I
believe.
