Microsoft AntiSpyware beta URL

S

sorina

As soon as I downloded the software a window pop up with
the message: Microsoft AntiSpyware ask permission to
change URL from old.... to new... and the options are
allowed or reject. I have no idea sholud I allowed or not
and as result I rejected. After few weeks my access to
internet is not allowed; I have to disable the Norton and
the Windows fire wall in order to get access. Please
advise.

Hi Sorina

First of all, only use 1 firewall.
Disable XP SP2 firewall from Control panel> Windows Firewall.

Nortons firewall is much better for both inbound and outbound traffic.

Allow or Block can be tricky, see this about Real time protection.

As you can see you get a red alarm window if a spyware tries to invade
your PC, and allow or block for other events must be a little up to you
to decide if you for example installs something.

Now we also have a MSN bug which changes your homepage to MSN so this
is probably your Allow or Block window !?
