From time to time I get the message from WindowsSearch: "The ordinal
49 could not be located in the dynamic linked library MAPI32.dll".
When starting Eudora, it says "Could not install Eudora MAPI because
MAPI.DLL and/or MAPI32.dll could not be renamed." But then Eudora
does work. But then on exit it says "Could not uninstall Eudora MAPI
system because MAPI.DLL and/or MAPI32.dll could not be renamed."
Something seems to have gone wrong with MAPI32.dll. I have three
copies of MAPI32.dll, one in I386, one in Windows\system32, and one in
program files\common files\system\msmapi\1033. All 3 are different
sizes. I thought that one might be marked "read only", not allowing
it to be renamed, but none are read only.
I'm using XP home, SP2.
How can I fix this problem?
