Malicious Software Removal Tool disables Task Manager, how to fix?

M

Mark

I went to this URL on Microsoft's web site:

http://www.microsoft.com/security/malwareremove/default.mspx

clicked the 'Skip the details and run the tool' link, which I read the
details earlier, clicked the 'Check My PC for Infection' (in step 2) and
this tool found no infections.

However, after running this online tool, the Task Manager in Windows XP SP1
has been disabled.

How do I re-enable the Task Manager option? When I right-click on the
Windows Taskbar, the Task Manager options is grayed out (not
clickable/selectable).

Thanks.
