Making a second hard disk the main system disk and boot disk.

My hard drive is failing on my current primary hard drive so I installed XP
Pro on a second hard drive. The new install works but it still boots
briefly through the first hard drive before running on drive two. Is there a
way to make my second hard drive the primary system hard drive and boot disk
and disabling the first hard drive.

You went about it the wrong way, assuming you have installed apps on your
new installation, when your hd finally fails, and you remove it, all your
drive letters will be out of sync. Whilst you can remedy this its
complicated and can cause probs.
Better to start again.
Disconnect failing drive, connect other drive as master, install winxp and
mobo chipset and other hw drivers. Update winxp.
Once up and running and apps installed, install old drive as slave, and copy
data from old to new.
Once old data recovered, junk old drive
