MailMessage - inserting new line character

What is the best character for inserting new line and which is accepted by
most of the email clients.

Right now I have \n
mailMessage.Body = "Line 1 \n Line 2 \n Line 3";
This works good for yahoo. etc
but is giving problem for our Lotus Notes

If I give \r
Lotus notes seems to take it but yahoo does not like it.
