Lost connection to the network

N

Nick

After running a scan on my system today, I lost network
connectivity. There were 48 items removed, but I can't
seem to get the machine back online. These are the
problems I see:

1. ICF service is not started.
2. Trying to start it gives error 10047: The address
requested is incompatible...something.
3. The network card shows limited or no connectivity with
an exclamation point.

Email me if you need more info.

Yep, the document appears to address my issue, however, I
already ran the XP Fix utility from the thread below
(which appears to be for VB programs), and it resolved my
problem. Thanks for the reply!

I'm not sure which thread you mean--but there are a number of ways to fix
this one--glad you got it going!

I also lost my internet connection. I have XP but not
SP2, I tried both of these fixes and still no connection.
I tried a system restore to just before downloading, but
nothing has helped. Should I uninstall the spyware?

OK. You ran WinsoxkXPfix.exe and it didn't help?

Do you connect with a dial up modem or with a DSL or Cable
modem or company Ethernet?

Start then Run and then type
cmd
and press enter. That should open up a new DOS-like
window.

Type the following with an Enter after each line.

ipconfig /all > junk.txt
ipconfig /release >> junk.txt
ipconfig /renew >> junk.txt
ipconfig /all >> junk.txt
nslookup att.com >> junk.txt
exit

Now send me the junk.txt file as an attachment.

Also

Get HijackThis.exe from
http:/www.tomcoyote.com/hjt/HijackThis.exe

Save it then Open it and SCAN your system then SAVE LOG
and send me the HijackThis log as an attachment.
