I had remote conenction working fine then I retype the computer address from

to:

smtp.XXXXXX.com:3391

I tried the orig connection and now I lost that also. How can I get it back.

Remote Desktop Connection is on port 3389.
Did you edit your registry and change it to a different port?

If you want to use a non-standard port, you have to edit
the registry on the host computer. You specify the port
number after the IP address on the remote computer as
indicated in your first post.

Here are Microsoft's directions to change the port number
on a host computer.

Thank you very much. I'll try it. I assume this port works on windows as
well as mac.

I checked my office computer today and the port# is set to 3389 like you
suggested,however I login using 3390?

Sometimes I can't login at all. Is it possible there is something
conflicting with remote desktop.

The only thing that comes to mind is that you may be doing
a port translation in the router. The table in the router where
you specify the IP address of the host computer should
specify the input and output port as 3389. It sounds like
the input port is set to 3390 and the output port is set to 3389.
