LOST ALL ICONS ON BOTTOM TOOLBAR

P

My grandson was playing with my computer today. I had a whole line of icons
of shortcuts of the programs that are used frequently on the bottom toolbar.
YEAH.....THEY ARE GONE!!! I cannot seem to get them back. I have tried
rebooting, restoring - can't find them and I can't even find them all under
my "programs".
Does anyone know of a way to get these back?
Thanks. I have windows xp.

Windows XP what?
Professional? Home? Tablet PC Edition? Media Center Edition? x64?
What service pack?

Not that it matters...

Close everything (all open windows) leaving nothing - so your taskbar (the
bar usually at the bottom with the START button on one side and the clock on
the other...) is empty.

Pick a spot on the taskbar about an inch from the start button - in the
solid colored area of the bar with nothing there (no representation of an
open window, application.etc..)

Place your mouse pointer there... press your right-mouse button (or the one
you don't normally use for double-clicking...)

In the menu that appears - go to TOOLBARS --> QUICKLAUNCH and click on it.

try this: [1]undo System Restore if you ran it, [2]right-click in the
taskbar, untick 'lock the taskbar', then right-click in the taskbar
again and choose 'toolbars', then tick 'quicklaunch' -----cheers,

WOW - that was easy - thank you. How in the heck did he ever manage to get
in there and undo the checkmark on quick launch. He plays games - he is 4
years old, but that was really talent!!!!!!!
Thank you.
