Looking for a way to covert MP3

Kurt

Howdy folks,
Does anyone know of a program that can convert Mp3 files back to wav
format? I have some Mp3s that I'd like to play on a CD player that
doesn't seem to like that format.
TIA.

CDEx (http://www.cdex.n3.net/) can do this: Menu "Convert" >> "Compressed
audio file(s) to WAV file(s)"

Winamp can do it too by running the sound output trough its harddisk
writer.(but since I don't run it I can't explain how exactly.)

It is quite easy in Winamp too - Menu/Preferences/Plug-ins/Output and then
choose the disc writer option.

If you want to burn your MP3's directly to a CD for use in a normal
CD-player you can use Deepburner. IIRC Deepburner has an option for this.

I use, in my opinion, the best there is ;)
You can find it here: http://www.exactaudiocopy.org/
For me the version "eac095pb4" works fine.
If you want to make your own mp3-files from CD,
then "LAME" is the best: http://mitiok.cjb.net/
I use version "lame-3.96".
I have a backup of all my CD's (and some of the library) on my hard disk
and on DVD. No problem to turn them back into CD's, no quality is lost
(if you use "LAME" to encode (with this configuration:
--alt-preset extreme %s %d)
And best of all, both programs are for FREE.

For what you want you don't need anything assuming whatever program you use
to write to CD blanks isn't more than about three years old...all you have
to do is start your burning program, tell it you want to make an audio CD
and load it up with 80 minutes of MP3s. It will decode to wave as it burns.

If you also want a decoder, there are numerous listed in my dandies below.

The two easiest program to do this is

LamedropXPd
http://www.rarewares.org/files/mp3/lamedropXPd-1.3.3.zip
The zip file is about 324Kb large.
Just drag and drop

and

dBpowerAMP Music Converter
