logon locally user right needed for terminal server logon?

I'm in the middle of updating myself from 2k to 2k3. In 2k3 the 'logon
locally' user right is NOT required to logon through terminal services... If
I remember correctly it WAS required in windows 2000, correct? I believe it
was and I also don't see any of the user rights in 2k GPOs that 2k3 now uses
for this... but I just want to verify.

anyone?

Yes logon locally was required for W2000 but a new user right was added to
Windows 2003 for allow logon through terminal services. You should see the
new user right in Local Security Policy of a W2003 server or when managing
Group Policy from a Windows 2003 domain controller or XP Pro admin
workstation used to manage Group Policy. Windows 2000 computers do not
recognize the user right for allow logon through terminal services. If you
have not done so yet be sure to consider installing GPMC on an XP Pro admin
domain workstation or on a Windows 2003 domain controller to manage Group
Policy. If you are going to use SP1 on the Windows 2003 Servers you also
want to look at the Windows 2003 Security Configuration Wizard. --- Steve
