Windows has suddenly started putting the log on window up on startup. Any ideas on how i can banish it once and for all? (also the log-off/ shut down screen thats part of the same thing)

Cheers,
Kenny

If you go to "Control Panel" > "User Accounts" > "Change the way users log on/off" and then untick the welcome screen.

That should do it :)

That happened to me once, where i am the only one who uses the computer but it asks 4 a password everytime i started the PC.

The way i fixed if for XP was to change the registry, Very Riskey but it worked so i was happy in the end

It only asks for the password if you put a password and have a account.
