Locked out of Windows 2000

Tom Arundel

Hi, I accidentally locked myself out of my own computer.
I was trying to reset user permsissions when preparing to
sell the Windows-based system on eBay. I somehow managed
to lock myself out of it completely. I am now unable to
log in using my old username and password. I am the
legitimate owner of this compuer. Does anyone know how I
can fix this?

Thanks,
Tom Arundel

Can't say I am an expert, but sounds like you have to re-
install your op system. When I recently set my opening
password there was a warning stating that if I forgot my
password then I would have to re-install. If you
accidently denied permissions to "everyone" then you have
a lost file or ability for everyone, including the
administrator. I would think that the "everyone" selection
should be disabled if one was selecting "denial"
permissions.

Hope that helps...
