Hello Staff and readers,
I'm preparing to perform an "in-place upgrade
(reinstallation) of Windows XP according to the
instructions posted in Microsoft Knowledge Base Articles
315341. In the preparatory instructions MS
states: "Backup copies of your registry files (in the %
systemroot%\Repair folder) are also replaced after the in-
place upgrade is completed....Copy these registry files to
another location befor you perform an in-place upgrade..."
I have search in the C:\Windows folder as well as exposing
the hidden and protected Windows XP files/folders, but to
date am unable to find this folder. If anyone out there
knows where the registry backup files are located in
Windows XP, Home Edition, Service Pack #1 please answer
this plea for help.
Sincerely,
scottdietert
