Loading problem

I have Windows XP Home Edition with 5 individual desktop
sites. When you try to log onto a personal site it takes
several minutes to load the desktop. Is there a problem
as this did not happen at one time? It used to only take
a few seconds to load up. The hard drive is only a
quarter used with plenty of free space.
Can anyone help solve this problem?

Thanks,

Judith

Please define your terms. Do you mean you have XP Home Edition with 5
specific users or that your computer is connected to a network with 5 other
computers (which by the way is what your post as worded implies).

Assuming you mean 5 different users on the same machine, check the event log
for possible errors that might give a clue as to the source of the issue:
Open Control Panel, open Administrative Tools, open Event Viewer and look
for errors that correspond to when this happens. You may have to check each
user account.

Also, be sure your antivirus software is up to date and run a virus scan in
each account.

Download, install and run Ad Aware in each account:

Note: you should always be well backed up before running an application of
this type.
