On reflection, that probably was the best bit of Live Aid.

Touched with poignancy of course as Freddie no longer with us.

On that day I'd been living for a couple of months in the flat I bought with wife # 2 in Forest Hill. I spent the day flitting between the garden building a pair of light cabinets for my disco, watching Live Aid on the TV and recording the whole thing to cassette. I still have those audio cassettes.

The evening was very warm and in the later stages filled with the most amazing electrical storms, all quite surreal and an unforgettable day.

In 1973 I was doing a regular rock disco every Friday at a venue named The Falcon at Falconwood Bexley and bought Queen's first ever single 'Keep Yourself Alive' which I played every week for a long time, the band were virtually unknown then.

Good link TXD.
