ok I need help my host computer is accessing the internet just fine through
my linksys broadband router but the guest computer is sending internet
packets out but not receiving any in return I have tried everything the NIC
is at 0% loss and the protocol is at 0% loss as well. The LAN is connected
but I am unsure of what to try next so that I can access the internet with
my other desktop computer. Both computers are running with Windows XP, Host
computer has SP1 but the guest computer is not able to access the internet so
no up dates have been made it has Windows XP Home Edition version 2002

Can you hook up the second computer to the lynksys router ?
The router should have more than one plug connector.
The computers should be able to run independently of each other.

Make sure you have the router set up to allow more than one DHCP user.
Enter the router's setup menu, and click on the DHCP tab. look in the
"Number of DHCP Users" area, and ensure that it is set for however many
users (computers, etc.) you have hooked up to it...

OK, something else to look for,

In the Classic control panel, double click Network connections,
right click Local area connection and select properties,
Scroll down and be sure Internet protocol TCP/IP is checked.
