Linking table does not link to correct table

This is very interesting. When a linked to an oracle
table, datatype of one of the columns in Access is
different than in Oracle. When same thing is done in
another PC, Access shows the correct datatype.

Where is the problem?

However strange it may sound....

The problem was, one of the columns, which is a number in
Oracle, was coming across as text.

The original connection used Microsfot's Oracle ODBC
driver. I reconnected using Oracle's ODBC driver. The
problem vanished!
