Linked Table Manager Not Showing List of Linked Tables

Don

I have a FE/BE configuration and use Linked Table Manager to refresh the
links to the BE. Today, when I went to do this, the Linked Table Manager
list was empty. This even though the table view clearly shows about a dozen
linked tables. Tried closing and re-opening the database with no luck. The
computer I am working on right now is running Win XP (SP-2) and MS Access
2003 (SP-1).

I had a similar issue (see post on 23 Sept 05) with a copy of this database
on another machine.

Right now I am a little suspicious of the database itself is it is
exhibiting particular Linked Table Manager functionality on two different
machines. However, this is only a guess.

Anyone see this type of problem before?

Any ideas?

Thanks!

Don

Try this:
1. Delete all your links.
You don't need to be in the Linked Table Manager to do this, just go to your
tables window and click on each table and click delete. This only deletes
the link to the table in the other database.
2. Do a Compact and Repair
3. Recreate the link to each table. Tedious, I know, but it may save a
suspicious database.

Joan,

Ended up having to use the Registry edit method to solve the problem. But
solve the problem it did!!

I had tried searching the MSDN, but as seems to be the case with me, must
have not had the right combination of keywords to zero in on the KB you
cited.

Thanks for the help!!
