Large Project worked fine for days now won't open.

I have a very large project which I've been working on consistenly for the
last week. Creates about 4gb of AVI when I create the move. Now today I
try to open the project and it blows up about 75% through the Open Project -
Checking project files... dialog. "Windows Movie Maker has encountered a
problem and needs to close. We are sorry for the inconvenience."

Sorry, think I read it as not being able to save the movie, not as not being
able to open the project.... might be related as a memory-related issue.

What file types are in the movie? If you have mp3's and mpeg's it may be
best to change those to wma and avi files, as they don't always work well.
Have you moved deleted any of the source files at all?

I agree. I suggest opening Windows Task Manager first,
and click on the Performance tab. Then open your project
in MM, and see how high the memory usage gets. You
"might" be exceeding the virtual memory on your PC.
