Keyboard error - Code 41

G

Guest

I have used this system for years with no problem. Three days ago the
keyboard stopped being recognized by XP. At boot the keyboard lights up and
pressing the DEL key gets you into the BIOS. I have tried several different
keyboards, same problem. The Device Manager has the yellow circle with an
asterik, and properties show "Device not found - Code 41"

Any ideas?

Hi Bob,

Right click on My Computer and select Properties - Hardware tab -
Device Manager.
Expand Keyboards.
Right click on the keyboard and select Uninstall.
Reboot and let Windows reinstall the keyboard.

Try removing the keyboard in Device Manager from Safe Mode.
