KB828026 security update Windows Media Player 9

I have installed this security update however
WindowsUpdate does not seem to recognise this as whenever
WindowsUpdate runs either automatically or manually the
update is on the critical list for installation. To date
it appears as succesful in my installation history circa
20 times. Any ideas?

Go to C:\windows\System\System32\Catroot
Rename the Catroot2 folder to oldcatroot2 and then reboot
Try windows update again
