K9 - messages identified as spam still get into Outlook Inbox?

I am a new users of K9 and all has been working well until this week
when I now see messages identified as spam (reads "YES") ALSO getting
into my Outlook 2002 Inbox.

Anyone any idea why this would happen?

K9 doesn't DELETE mails, it only MARKS them. You then have to set up a
filter rule in Outlook to decide what to do with messages marked as
spam.
