hi,
i bought a asus k8v deluxe board 2 weeks ago with an a64 3200+.
on bios version 1003 i set the performance mode to turbo and was wondering
about the weird sound [like extremely high wheezing] the board made while
the processor was idle in winXP.
after an upgrade to bios 1004 i set it back to standard and the noise was
gone.
when i opened the case to install a new disk i saw that 2 capacitors are
thick and open on their top and some brown mass around...

i'm using recommended ram, i didnt change any voltages in the bios at all.

how long can i work with this board now, what could happen...?

thanks,
wolf

With obviously bad capacitors as you describe, RMA the board immediately.
Things will only get worse. Hope you purchased from a dealer that had good
customer service.
