Just installed new memory......I think I have a problem

I have 4 slots for memory sticks, and I know that my motherboard can take a maximum of 4GB.

I originally had 2 x 256MB = 512MB, (PC3200 DDR400, CL3 SAMSUNG)


I just added 2 x 512MB = 1GB, (PC3200 DDR400, CL2.5 GEIL DUAL CHANNEL )

I have just checked 'MY COMPTER' properties and it's saying I only have 768MB of memory!!!

Shouldn't I have 1.5GB???

I have no idea what's going on, unless the GEIL doesn't work with the Samsung. But even if it didn't shouldn't it come up as 1GB??

I originally had 512MB, I added 1GB and now I have 768MB!!

Anyone got any ideas about what's going on?
