junk email filter is filtering out emails not on junk list

I just found out that good messages are going to Junk Mail Folder. Even
messages sent to myself were thrown into junk. In that case I did find my
address in the list of email addresses to be filter out! Other good emails
were found to be filtered out, while a good number of spam mailings were not
filter out. I am most concerned though with the emails going to the Junk mail
folder when they should not. What should I do to straighten this out?

The filter also checks the content of mail messages and filters based on
that. If you find messages filtered that shouldn't be you can:
- add the senders to safe lists
- reduce the level of filtering
