JPEGs faded grey after backup restore

Gidday, after restoring from backup, some not all, of my JPEGs are a faded
grey. They only appear this way in explorer though when I view them with a
graphics app they appear normally in full colour. How can I correct this?

Many thanks,

Use TweakUI - one of the XP Powertoys from (if you have installed XP
SP1)
http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/pro/downloads/powertoys.asp

If you have not installed SP1, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

In its Explorer - Thumbnails page, move the Quality slider left - about
one third from right to left seems OK. If set *too* high you get this
effect
