Looking for 'system restore' and this "The procedure entry point RemoteAssistancePrepareSystemRestore could not be located in the dynamic link library WINSTA.dll." pops up. NORTON has a virus 'contained' and and AVG says it had two that it deleated.

I have had this PC for almost two years and this is the first time I've had trouble with a worm or virus, at least any lasting trouble.

For starters:

Right click My Computer/Properties/System Restore and turn it off.
(Stop System Restore/delete all restore points/start system restore).

For Blaster:

This script removes all variants of the W32.Blaster.Worm (original, B, C, D,
E and F) and will inform you whether or not the patch is already installed.

To fix your WINSTA.DLL problem do the following:
Click on start/run
Type in C:\windows\inf and hit ok.
Find sr.inf in the list and right click on it.
Choose install.
Point the install to the I386 folder on your XP compact
disk.
Once it is installed you should be able to open system
restore.
This usually occurs if you had SP1 installed and then
performed a repair install/inplace upgrade.
