Is this beta really a beta ?

Hey folks,

I have been trying this peace of so-called software
several times : it is a catastrophy isn't it.

When I see all the requests for help, all the things that
do not work, then I can only conclude 1 thing :
THIS THING IS NOT A BETA - IT IS EVEN LESS THAN AN ALPHA.

MS should pull it back from the "public-beta" circuit
immediately !
It is so laughable, or should I say so mournful.

Hmm.....I wonder why it works so well for so many? Do you suppose it could
be the user?

Andre...you hit the nail right on the head. If you were
to get rid of the duplicate questions you'd get rid of
90% of the posts.
Also bear in bear in mind that since this beta is open to
anyone, you are going to attract a lot of people who
should not even go near beta testing because they haven't
got a clue what is involved in beta testing. Too many
users expect perfection right after the download. That
doesn't happen in beta.

To add a little more...
You should not install a Beta, any Beta unless you are willing to lose
everything and also willing to perform a Clean Installation to resolve
problems if necessary.

Typically Beta are totally unsupported and use at your own risk.

That does not mean you will have problems with Beta.
But you should enter a Beta with eyes wide open.

Consider that approximately 20 million users have
downloaded this program. Then take the number of
complaints and problems (deduct duplicate posts) and you
will realize that it's a pretty good program and that a
heck of a lot of people must be quite pleased with it. I
know I am.

I know I shouldn't Andre, but I can't figure out what people expect from a
beta and why, when they don't work properly they assume it's all the fault
of the beta.

I'm surprised you're still online after that storm. :)

Linuxgirl, it was dang scary too, but it has passed thank good ness. Very
heavy storm, but not as bad as Ivan (thank goodness), I don't think I could
go through that again. I think we got 3 more major ones to go through this
year and the hurricane season does not end until November. BTW, I had about
34 power cuts during Emily, which was very annoying. :(
