My ISP is tiscali, otherwise known as TalkTalk now and i experience a lot of problems like my connection disconnecting at peak times so i called them and they've told me to do a lot of things like (reset my router, use different ADSL filters adsl cables, routers which i've done).

So i called them up again explaining how it still happens etc, and they said that my frequency is really low so they increased it, but still goes down and are going to have to call out an engineer and if they problem is my side, i have to pay. is there anything i can do to fix it my side, so i don't have to pay?

suggestions would be appreciated,
thanks Foley.

Hi Foley, I'm not an expert on this - so hopefully someone with more knowledge will see this and be able to help.

I did want to check a few things though - what model router do you have and how does it connect to your PC(s)? Does anything appear in the router logs when a dropped connection occurs, and does the router automatically reconnect?

Okay, thank you. I have an Edimax ADSL +2 it connects from the ADSL filter straight to the router then back of the router to PC. I looked in the logs and things do appear and yes it does. It's mainly from at 11pm till about 6am.

Can you copy and paste the section of the logs when a disconnect happens and that may reveal something :).
