Internet Explorer Scroll Bar

I recently reinstalled Windows 2kpro. I updated to SP4
and installed all the latest sec. releases, etc including
IE6. Now when I get to a search page with more that a few
screens of content and I click on the scroll bar, rather
than 'page down' my screen scrolls all the way to the
bottom regardless of where I click on the bar (except if I
click on the down arrow at the bottom of the scroll bar).
Is this just the nature of IE6? Is there some setting I
can adjust to control this. I have tried altering my
mouse settings and pointer option to no improvement. Help.

This is a bug in a recent security update, #824145. It has not yet been
fixed by Microsoft. If the convenience of normal scrolling is more
important to you than the security patch it provides, you can uninstall the
patch from Add/Remove Programs (look for "Internet Explorer Q824145").
