Internet Explorer 6.0 won't let me open more than one Browser Window at a Time

I have just recently had this problem where I cannot open
two instances of Internet Explorer on my computer. If I
try and right-click on a link to "Open in New Window", it
simply opens the link in the new window, but closes the
previous one. I can continue to surf the web in the new
window, however, when I close the window I get a general
error message saying that "internet Exporer has caused an
error and will shut down" and that "if you continue having
problems, please restart your computer".

I have searched the web long and hard for an answer to
this problem but have had very little luck. I even have
seen a couple of similar postings here in thee newsgroups,
but each one basically says that you must have some sort
of spyware running that is doing this to the browser. I
have run both "AdAware" and "Search and Destroy", deleted
any questionable operations or cookies, etc... and still
have the same problem. AAAAARRRRGGGGHH! any help would
be GREATLY appreciated!

Thanks (from chilly Canada)

I have also tried unchecking the "Resuse Windows for Shortcuts" option in
the tools.internet Options.Advanced menu of internet Explorer, but it still
didn't help"
