Internet dialing automatically

The internet is dialing up automatically by itself.
Sometimes i go away from the computer for 2 mins and when
i come back it is connected to the internet. The
confusing thing is that the (automatically connect)
button is not ticked on the dial up so i dont know what
else to do. When the window comes up, it just starts to
dial stright away and the only button avialable is
(Cancel), so i press that, it cancels the dialing but
then it tries to dial again bout 5 mins later ! I have a
feeling its a something to do with tiscali to but im not
sure. I would really appreciate any help.

It could be anything (e.g., anti-virus application seeking definitions,
Windows Automatic Update, a Messenger application).

Check your system for "hijackware".

HijackThis (http://www.spywareinfo.com/~merijn/files/hijackthis.zip) is the
preferred tool to use these days. It will help to both identify and remove
any hijackware/spyware. **Post your files to
http://forums.spywareinfo.com/, not here.**

Also update your virus definitions and then run a full system scan. From
now on, do both daily.
