Intermittent USB Keyboard failure

The system has Win XP Pro SP2 and an Intel D915GAVLX motherboard.
I have a customer's machine that the USB keyboard will work for a while then
quits working. It can be moved to another USB port and will work again for a
while then quits again. The USB mouse works without incident and a USB
connection to a printer work fine. A PS2 KB works without problems. I have
connected multiple USB Keyboards without any success of one operating without
this failure problem.
Any Ideas?
