Intel released some details about it's upcomming Prescott core today at the Intel Developper Forum. The latest is that it will have a 5GHz clock speed and will feature many core improvements such as new SIMD instructions for SSE2, a 90nm process (as opposed to the current 130nm) as well as being the first chip to implement strained silicon.

Intel expects to release new chips based on the Prescott core late this year. Check out the full article.

In other Intel news, sources tell me that cuts on the high-end P4s are just around the corner, so keep an eye out.
