Installing KYOCERA FS-1020D

I'm trying to re-install KYOCERA FS-1020D because I had a problem with a
fatal exception in NTKERN.

This is the recommended way of installing printers to a USB port:

.......

7. Select the printer model on Select Printer Model list and click next.
KM-WDK USB driver will be installed automatically.

(In the Microsoft's Device Manager under "Universal Serial Bus Controllers"
I see "KM-WDK USB". So presumably the USB driver is installed.)

8. Select Creat a new port radio button on Select the Printer Port Page.

(I do this.)

9. Select KM USB Port on the list of port type and click next.

(Snag. The only new port choices I have are: Kprint Port; Epson USB Printer
Port Monitor; and Local Port. In desperation and not really knowing what I
was doing, I went and chose Local Port and typed in a box "KM USB Port".
This (kind of) established a port to which the printer is connected to. But
I see in the description for KM USB Port itsays "Unknown Local Port". I
cannot print out a test page. Surely I should have seen KM USB port already
on the list of new ports to choose.)

The rest of the instructions are:

10. KM-USB Port Monitor dialogue window is displayed and port name
(KMUSBXXX) is generated automatically.

11. Click on OK button to accept port name (or assign a new port name and
clickthe OK button).

12. Follow the other steps of Kyocera Mita Printer Installation Wizard.

13. When the Confirm Settings page of the Kyocera Mita Printer Installation
Wizard appers make sure that all settings are correct and click to start
installation.

HELP!! Thanks.

Eventually used standard Windows New Hardware Wizard rather than KYOCERA's
Wizard to reinstall.

But still get : "A fatal exception has occured at 0028:C02A09D in VxD
NTKERN (08)
+0000A699" when I print.

I think this is a job for KYOCERA to sort.
