Installing Itunes (Bonjour Service Doesn't Work)

Brandon Milonovich

Hello,
I am running XP Pro and am trying to install the latest version of Itunes.
When I get to a certain point in the installation it says to me that the
Bonjour Service failed to start. I went into the services area and tried to
start it myself. When I tried that it gives me the following message:
"Could not start the Bonjour Service on Local Computer. Error 1068: The
dependency service or group failed to start."
After seeing this I went into the dependencies tab and found the following
message:
"Win32: The service cannot be started, either because it is disabled or
because it has no enabled devices associated with it."
I have not touched any of the other services and have not installed any
other software recently. Could you tell me why it does this and if there is
a solution because I would really like to get this new version of ITunes
working.
Thank You,
Brandon Milonovich

I had numerous problems with iTunes 5.0; first I got a "The ordinal 140 was
not found in the dynamic link library MAPI32.dll". Then it displayed "Entry
point not found"...I could not get itunes to install correctly at all. I
noticed there was no recognized certificate during the install.

I tried dropping back to version 4.9 but got the same errors. Apple's help
page is useless..

It would probably be a good idea to do a restore point. I've learned
and probably still learn that if you have a good working version of
iTunes, don't upgrade until they force you too. I don't think you are
forced to use 5.0 yet.

Apple's help is basically useless. Not the best marketing strategy to
sway Windows users.

hi , i just figured out how to solve the problem,
1. delete both your iTune and Quick time
2. find the disc that was with your iPod when u open the box
3. install "only" iTune form the disc.
4. download Quick time7.0
5. when you start iTune , it might warn u. Well, at least , your Itune works
again~~

have a nice day , ^^
